about

Limited to 250 editions.

Rita formed The Jerico Orchestra at The Foundry in 2008 following a presentation of Treatise, an experimental music piece by the English composer, Cornelius Cardew (1936-1981).

Over the next decade Rita applied her punk influence to the reinterpretation of classic avant garde music to emphasise an often underestimated link between the history of fine art performance and that of experimental music.

This live album includes a unique recreation of the legendary 1922 Symphony of Sirens by the great Soviet composer Arseny Avraamov celebrating the power of the workers liberated by the October revolution, selections from Cornelius Cardew's The Great Learning and a recent re-interpretation of Marinetti's proto-futurist 1912 concrete poem Zang Tumb Tumb.

Each track is the documentation of a unique one-off performance & each piece has been recorded live in front of an audience in one take with nothing added or re-recorded after the event, this a specific requirement set by Rita.
